I think the right phrase is technocynic to describe my relationship to technology. From an eco point of view technology has brought us only problems. I can’t think of a single thing that in itself has improved the ecosystem, but I’d like to stand corrected. There are a number of technologies that have improved stuff that initially were screwed up, like CFCs. But that doesn’t count in my view.
So a technocynic will view all technology as having a potential of improving human life (and maybe repair som damage in the rest of the ecosystem) but will inherently be bad. The mere existence of human tech is a failure. I’d say history has proven that. And that kind of goes into my judgement of all those techno-optimists that launch one killer-app after another…
Clean tech? Aaaaarrrrrrggggghhhhhhhh.
